Railroad protective liability

Railroad protective liability is designed to provide coverage for your rail network in the event of an accident involving independent contractors working for your business or a third party adjacent to, or on, your railroad property. The policy is purchased by the contractor in the name of the railroad, and includes:

  • Occurrence and claims-made forms
  • Basic limits: $2,000,000 occurrence and $6,000,000 aggregate
  • Higher limits available on request
  • Blanket railroad protective program-contractors
  • Fuel and lubricant endorsements available
  • Admitted and non-admitted paper

Rail servicing liability

Zurich provides insurance coverage on a primary and excess basis for railroad service companies and railroad suppliers. Coverages include:

General liability:

  • Limits of liability: $1,000,000 to $5,000,000 any one occurrence with matching aggregate
  • Stopgap liability
  • Independent contractors coverage available
  • Incidental malpractice
  • Occurrence and claims-made policy forms
  • Admitted and non-admitted paper

Automobile liability and physical damage:

  • Primary and excess coverage available
  • Owned, non-owned and hired vehicle coverage
  • Drive other car coverage
  • Railroad as additional insured where needed

Umbrella liability/excess liability:

  • Limits of liability up to $25,000,000 any one occurrence; aggregate where applicable

Zurich’s Crisis Management Expense Reimbursement enhancement offers up to $25,000, outside the limits of the policy, but in excess of a $5,000 self-insured retention (SIR).

Expert public relations services* are tailored to your specific needs and may include:

  • Help with messaging press release
